The exact number of days between your date of birth and today, leap days included.

How to use the days alive calculator

1 Enter your date of birth. The second field is today unless you change it.
2 Read the day count, which includes every 29 February in the span.
3 To find when a round number falls, put a future date in the second field and nudge it until the count reads what you want.
4 The other rows restate the same span in weeks, months and hours.

Days are the unit where the round-number milestones actually land somewhere memorable: 10,000 days is 27 years and 4 months, 15,000 lands about three and a half weeks past a forty-first birthday, 20,000 is 54 years and 9 months, and 25,000 is 68 years and 5 months. The 10,000-day mark in particular is a birthday that arrives with no cultural baggage attached, which is part of its appeal. The count includes leap days, which is why it is not simply your age times 365. Over 27 years that difference is nearly a week, and over forty years it is ten days. It is also worth knowing that this is the one way of stating an age that carries no convention with it. Years, months and weeks all need a ruling somewhere: whether a month-end clamps, whether an anniversary counts on the day itself, whether a partial week rounds up — and a day count needs none. It is a subtraction, which is why two tools can disagree about your age in months and never about your age in days.

Questions

27 years and about 4 months. It is the milestone most worth knowing.
