How this site approaches cookies
This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies of its own. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland every Google consent signal starts denied and stays denied, so Google Analytics loads but may not write a cookie or an identifier and sends a cookieless ping instead. Outside those regions the defaults start granted. The advertising network sets its own cookies; see Advertising below.
Essential (no consent needed)
A handful of local entries in your own browser: language, theme, bookmarks and your own tool ratings. They never leave your device, identify nobody, and exist only so the site remembers how you like it.
Analytics
Outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to tell visits apart, so we can see which tools are used and which pages are slow. Lifetime up to 13 months; the data behind them is kept 14 months. Inside those regions analytics storage stays denied, so no cookie is written and no identifier is recorded.
Advertising
The advertising network that pays for the site may set its own cookies and similar identifiers to select ads, cap how often you see the same one, and measure results. These are set by the network rather than by us, and we receive nothing you typed into a tool. Blocking or clearing third-party cookies in your browser stops them; the ads and the tools both still work.
Changing your mind
Clearing site data in your browser removes every local entry this site has made, including your language, theme and bookmarks. Third-party advertising cookies are set by the network rather than by us, so blocking or clearing third-party cookies in your browser is what stops those.
