How to use the colour palette generator
Holding saturation and lightness steady is what makes a palette read as a palette. Random hues at random saturations look like a mistake; the same hues at a consistent saturation and lightness look designed, which is most of what a palette generator is doing. A small amount of jitter is added to the hue spacing so the result does not look mechanically even. What no generator can do is tell you whether two of the colours are readable together, that is a contrast question, and a palette can be beautiful and completely unusable for text.
